The Plaza Eloise Christmas Tree

Even though a very long list of celebrities have stayed at The Plaza hotel in New York, Eloise, the fictional little girl who lives in the “room on the tippy-top floor” with her Nanny, might be the most famous resident at the well known hotel through the Kay Thompson childrens book series and with Eloise in mind, top designer Betsy Johnson has teamed with The Plaza and designed their first ever Christmas tree which was unveiled Monday night at a tea ceremony and is on display to the public through Jan. 4.

“It’s filled with girly stuff—pink feathers, sparkles, foldout Eloise paper dolls,” Johnson says. “There’s three quarters of me that’s six years old and it comes out.”

Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney is my favourite of all the sisters in the Dash clan and this mostly because I love her style, her character and the fact that she has a relationship and a son makes her more real. Could be wrong but that’s how I see it.

She’s wearing these leopard printed tights and maybe she’s not skinny but she sure has the curvs in all the right places and they look really cool with a black top. Something not everyone can pull of. For the other prints I’m not so sure, depends what you match them with.

I had bought a pair of printed tights when I was in New York and trust me, God knows why I even considered wearing them. They had this fake tattoo print haha. Oh well. We all make mistakes which is good so we have something to laugh about later…

Post holiday blues

Morning everyone, just got back from a powerwalk in the sun. Still really warm even this early.

All I can think of is that I want to be back in Rome. That was really my kind of city. Like a little piece of New York in Europe. I felt surrounded by all the things I truly love; great architecture, history, amazing food culture, beautiful and stylish people, perfect climate, the incredible catholic churches and spiritual atmosphere plus of course the general city-feel with shops and constant movement. Aah…

Thank God I live in Malta so it’s not too far away and Malta is also great in many other, sometimes similar, ways.

xx

Taschen New York

The other day we added another Taschen book to our little collection; Taschen New York.  It’s split in 3 sections of Hotels, Restaurants and Shops. Very useful 😉 It also includes a little handy map with the mentioned places.

How can New York be so fascinating? What makes people go there and come back with their eyes glowing as if they’ve just discovered Jesus. To me it was an overwhelming feeling of Anything can happen here. Good or bad of course but the scale tipping over far more on the positive side. You can meet any kind of person, find any type of food or item and  Brangelina was at a nearby hotel 😉 My favourite reggaeton duo was in a polaroid pic at the store where I bought the (really extremly ugly) Ed Hardy dress (yea what’s wrong with him, making all those loser clothes) coz they were friends with the owner. Of course. In New York things that seemed so far fetched at home suddenly feels real. That’s the very special feeling of New York. I’m telling you my legs turned in to jelly just passing something that looked like a movie being shot or something hehe.

Read it.

New York

It’s a beautiful yet very hot day on the island and it’s been hot for such a long time it makes me dream about the fall in New York. Imagine..a bit of a cool breeze, a magazine or book, a comfortable armchair and a coffee at Starbucks and the pulse of the city outside. I’ve only been there once and can’t wait to one day go back. It’s truly my favourite city. I loved how random people start talking to you everywhere and usually with a smile on their face.

I had a nice time at the boat show yesterday btw but the only picture I managed to get of myself was in front of the new Ferrari on display and as everyone kept walking around the car I got distracted and ended up looking grumpy on the pic :o) I wanted to show you my marine outfit but…better luck some other time eh.

Dream dream dream. A little memory of the city right in my kitchen.
